Just a quick note to let you know how pleased I was with Sir Sam’s staff and facilities.

 I was there with 4 kids and we did the learn to ski program.  I was only expecting one instructor for the five of us and you supplied us with two.  This allowed my youngest  son Simon to work alone with Peter.  He loved the attention and camaraderie offered by Peter and after a rocky start to the day he ended up loving his ski day and wants to go back.

 My older 3 worked by Bryan and they all did very well and had a fantastic time.

 The lift operator at the kiddie tow (studying education) was also great.  Very professional and helpful.  She knew all the kids’ names and called them by name which is an important detail and shows excellent customer service skills.

 Thanks to all of your staff – we will definitely be back.

We have been skiing at Sir Sams for many years but this was the first time that due to circumstances, I was not able to ski myself, but had an opportunity to watch the action from the sidelines. We had a bunch of youngsters with us last Sunday, of which one was a beginner, and two were experienced skiers snow boarding for the first time. They all went to the Pony Hill for lessons. I really noticed how friendly all the staff was that they interacted with, and also the friendliness of staff teaching other youngsters. Although as I said all staff seemed extremely friendly I would like to mention Steve Sr. who taught my son the basics of snowboarding, and the young blond girl (Vanessa?) who taught my 11 year old nephew the basics of skiing.  The lady handling the towrope was amazing. I cannot recount the number of times she ran up the slope helping some child (and the odd adult) who had not been able to hang on and was stranded somewhere up the hill.  And her smile never broke. Simply outstanding.  We encountered the same friendliness from the inside staff at the various food and drink counters, the ticket office, ski school counter and rental center.  

Sir Sam's truly is the most family friendly ski resort.

Dear Chris and the entire Sir Sam’s staff,

   I would like to take this opportunity to take this time to say a HUGE thank you from the students, staff and parents of Madoc Public School for an amazing ski trip yesterday. The entire staff - management, the ski school, rental shop, cafeteria and the ski lifters were - extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, safe and helpful. Through out the entire day I was constantly asked if there was anything that our school needed to make the day more enjoyable. The staff truly seemed to go out of their way to make our day the best it could possibly be.

     There were many times throughout the day that amazed me, but Chris, I would like to mention one to you that stands out for me, and probably will forever in the mind of one of our students. This was the first year we have brought a student with special needs on our ski trip. A few times throughout the day he had a meltdown because of what he perceived as a problem. One of your ski instructors saw this, talked to him and then basically skied with him one on one with him the rest of the day. Your instructor was calm, encouraging and very helpful towards this little boy. I was in awe to witness this event.

     Over my teaching career I have organized numerous ski trips for or school over the years and this experience by far exceeds any of the prior ski trips MPS have been on. The staff of Sir Sam’s need to know how special they are. In this era of business, it is nice to see customer service is still a priority at your resort.

     Chris I hope you don’t mind that I am going to forward this letter to the Physical Education Leader at the board level to let the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board how wonderful or experience was.

     In closing, I would like to say that yesterday has made Sir Sam’s my resort of choice for school ski trips for the future.

 My family and I travelled from our cottage about 40 minutes away, to spend the day on your slopes. My children are 5 and 7 and had never snowboarded before. Neither had my husband or I. So we cautiously set off on our first run. The children took to it like they were born on snowboards and my husband shortly after got the hang of it. I didn’t. I switched to skis after only 2 runs. My day and mood greatly improved after I got 2 planks under my feet! I would like to commend our entire Sir Sam’s experience. Every single person we encountered in the rental area and on the slopes was exemplary. The encouragement and advice they gave my children was sincere and thoughtful. The greetings and smiles we got at every go around were appreciated. Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs, rather than just putting in the time. We left after a full day, and will be back every chance we get. After visiting your website, I realized we can come back to mountain bike too! I would like to thank the staff for making my children’s first snowboarding experience an amazing one, because it will be something they will always remember. I will too, because the level of customer service we received is in short supply these days. I will be back on March Break, with friends, and I hope some of the same staff will be there to greet us!
